خیلی دوست داشتم که مایکل پارسا و پویان طبسی نژاد را هم در این عکس کنار دیگر دوستان میدیدیم، که هم نشانی از اتحاد و همبستگی کامیونیتی ورای اعتقادات و وابستگی ها، در حمایت از یکدیگر باشد و هم نشان از اینکه هییت مدیره کنگره گرایش خاصی نسبت به گروه و حزبی ندارد. بیژن و ستوده عزیز آیا در این رابطه با مایکل و پویان هم تماس گرفته اید؟ آنها در این روند چه کمک هائی تا به حال کرده اند

Yesterday Soudeh Ghasemi and Bijan Ahmadi on behalf of the Iranian Canadian Congress met with Mr. Mike Colle the MPP from Eglinton-Lawrence and the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Labour in Ontario to discuss Maryam Rashidi’s death in Calgary and the need for increased safety measures for gas station workers in Ontario and Alberta. In this meeting Mr. Colle promised to re-introduce bill-12 after summer recess of the provincial parliament to implement safety measures that can prevent gas-and-dash accidents. ICC requested this legislation to be called Jayesh-Rashidi as a tribute to Maryam Rashidi and Jayesh Prajapati. Jayesh was an immigrant from India who died in a similar gas-and-dash accident in Toronto back in 2012. During the next few months the Iranian Canadian Congress will work with MPP Mike Colle to pass Jayesh-Rashidi Bill in Ontario. In near future we will inform you about similar steps we are taking to increase safety measures for gas station workers in Alberta.
